In 2023, after reaching critical mass in their own setting, St. Herman of Alaska Orthodox Church (Edmonton) began looking for a priest to start a mission. That priest came in the guise of Fr. Ryan Bishop, a native of Saskatchewan and a priest of 8 years. Fr. Ryan led a group of 45 intrepid parishioners out of their home church and into the wider community to begin a new endeavour; what would eventually become St. Olga’s Mission. They quickly outgrew their first home in the Annex of St. Augustine’s Anglican Church in Otwell and eventually moved to their current home at Redeemer Lutheran Church.
