Fr. Ryan Bishop
Having been raised in the Seventh Day Adventist and Mennonite churches throughout his youth, Fr. Ryan has always been curious about Christianity, God, the Church, and all things spiritual. This thirst led him to pursue ministry in the Mennonite church as a pastor. In 2006 he graduated from Columbia Bible College (Abbotsford, BC), with a bachelor’s degree in biblical studies. Shortly after, in 2007, he discovered the Orthodox Church at St. Herman of Alaska, Langley, BC. After being received later that year, he spent time in formation as a choir member, reader, and sub-deacon before completing his calling to ordained ministry by moving to Yonkers, New York for seminary. He is a graduate of St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary (MDiv, 2016), and has lived and worked in BC, Alberta, and Saskatchewan. After moving to Edmonton in 2023, he began the task of starting St. Olga’s mission. He is a priest of 9 years, husband to a wonderful wife, a father of 3, and a proud Edmontonian.
